Best Practices for Electric Vehicle Care

Practical guidance to keep your EV safe, efficient, and long-lasting

Best Practices for Vehicle Use

  • Do a visual check before driving: Before starting your WULING, walk around for a thorough inspection: tyre condition, lights and mirrors, any visible damage, charging port, fluid leaks, wipers. This simple inspection helps keep you and your vehicle safe.
  • Keep an eye on tyre pressure: Your dashboard has a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Check the readings and adjust if needed. Correct tyre pressure improves safety, saves energy, and reduces wear and tear of tyres.
  • Maintain battery health: Try to keep your battery level above 20%. You can monitor charge on the dashboard display.
  • Store at 40–60% SOC: If the vehicle will not be used for longer than 7 days, it is advisable to maintain the battery's State of Charge (SOC) between 40% and 60% to help to extend the battery life. For vehicles unused for more than 3 months, fully charge the battery and then discharged it to 40% and 60% every three months. Failing to do so may cause over-discharge, reducing battery performance and potentially damaging the battery.

Driving Tips for Better Performance

  • Pay attention to warning lights: If a red or amber warning light appears, visit the nearest WULING service centre.
  • Use regenerative braking: WULING electric vehicles recharge the battery when slowing down. Adjust the regen level in the settings - higher levels extend driving range.
  • Use cruise control: On highways or long open roads, cruise control maintains a steady speed, improving comfort, saving energy, and reduces fatigue.
  • Use “Auto” climate control: Set your desired temperature and turn on the Auto mode. The system will maintain a comfortable cabin environment automatically.

Best Practices for Charging

  • 80% charge is enough for daily usage: Charging to 80% is typically sufficient for everyday driving and helps maintain battery health.
  • Carry your portable charger: Your WULING includes a 2.3kW portable charger compatible with standard 13A sockets. Always check the socket for damage before use.
  • Inspect before charging: Examine cables and ports for fraying, cracks, or loose 4 parts. If damaged, do not use the charger, get it inspected.
  • USE TUV-CERTIFIED CHARGERS: Only use chargers that meet TUV safety standards for WULING vehicles to ensure safety and performance.

Best Practices for Maintenance

  • Service at authorized Wuling centres: Get your vehicle serviced at authorized centres to ensure expert care and warranty protection.
  • Collision repairs: After an accident, use an authorized WULING repair centre to maintain safety ratings and warranty coverage.
  • Use genuine parts: Only use genuine parts from authorized service centres for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Underbody and engine bay cleaning: Only WULING-trained technicians should clean under the car or under the hood. Avoid DIY cleaning or using harsh chemicals.
  • Keep software updated: Get the latest updates during service visits to improve performance and security.
  • Battery care: Do not leave the car unused with the battery at 20%.
  • Follow the maintenance schedule: Refer to your warranty/service manual for recommended service intervals.

Best Practices During Emergencies

  • After an accident: stay calm, exit safely, push aside airbags before leaving the vehicle. Contact the nearest WULING service centre or roadside assistance.
  • Warning triangle: If you experience a breakdown, place the warning triangle at a safe distance behind your car to alert other drivers.
  • Jump-starting: Do not attempt to jump-start the WULING yourself. Call roadside assistance for help.
