Warranty Terms

Brown & Company PLC guarantees this product against defects in material and workmanship subject to the conditions mentioned below;

 

1.     Warranty will be applied according to the reference field on the card. Note that all products are subjected to the following conditions.

2.     To avail the benefits of this warranty, products should be handed over to the service centre within the warranty period along with a written notice.

3.     If the product has any dent, damage or missing accessories, the service centre needs to be informed within 7 days after the customer has received the item. If the product has been checked and tested at the point of purchase, the above 7 days will not be valid.

4.     Any international warranty card or catalogue and package warranty period will not applicable to the Sri Lankan market. The product will only be valid according to the warranty card period authorized by Brown & Company PLC’s official rubber stamp.

5.     It is possible for PDP, LCD or OLED panels to develop dark or bright pixels during usage. In order to qualify for a repair under warranty, such TVs must have a number of pixels or sub pixel defects exceeding the minimum requirement (7 spot defects) for a panel model.

6.     The warranty does not cover the following accessories supplied with products such as; remote controls, detachable speakers, burners, cutters, knife blades, detachable jugs, lids, blades or similar fittings. It additionally does not cover any cosmetic damage or abnormalities, scratches, dents, chips and normal wear depending on the functionality of the products.

7.     Warranty is not applicable if the product has been subject to an accident or physical damage during transportation or whilst in the custody of the customer. Additionally, the warranty shall not cover any consequential or other damages.

8.     Warranty becomes null and void if the product has been; subjected to or attempted repair, modification or software upgrades by unauthorized persons, if the product serial number has been altered, obliterated or removed, exposed to any natural disaster, has been operated contrary to instructions given or implied or operated negligently.

9.     Be cautious while using the product as warranty becomes null and void if the product has been used for a purpose other than what it was built for. Consumer products are designed manufactured for domestic usage only and any damages caused by commercial or industrial application will not be covered.

10.  If the warranty card is lost and in order to proceed with warranty service, the customer needs to produce  proof of purchase  (invoice or online order receipt), along with a letter. Any data alteration on the  card will render warranty null and void.

11.  Warranty will be considered void if the product is affected by the following; sea spray, damage done by household pets, rats and insects, electricity fluctuations or lightning surges and incorrect installation by customer..

12.  It is advisable to charge rechargeable products once in every week. Please note that warranty for rechargeable products will cover manufacturing defects except for the batteries used in the products. Batteries will only be eligible for warranty 03 months from the date of purchase.

13.  If the product cannot be repaired due lack of spare parts or any other factor in the country, the customer may purchase a product similar to the warranty claim product’s purchase price. A refund of the purchase value will be provided once the service department confirms that the product cannot be repaired. Refunds will be processed only for purchases made directly through Browns’ showroom or www.brownsdeals.com.
